Open Office For Mac Osx
That means that users not only had to install X11, they also had to learn a new user interface that was markedly different than the native windowing system on their computers. To put it bluntly, the older versions of OpenOffice.org that required the X11 windowing system would have earned a big fat one star rating from me.
Apache OpenOffice is a free office-suite alternative to Microsoft Office or Apple's iWork Suite. With open-source development, features constantly change and improve, which makes OpenOffice in some ways more flexible than its paid counterparts. While bugs are bound to be an issue, this is an all-around powerful, accessible tool set for anyone who needs productivity software. Pros Near-complete tool set: Apache OpenOffice's biggest selling point is that it can almost completely replace Microsoft Office. OpenOffice can open all of its counterpart's file formats and runs a smaller module. While it may not have the same sleek, modern look as the most recent editions of Microsoft Office or iWork, OpenOffice can easily handle all the same types of documents and tasks. Streamlined interface: Some open source tools can be intimidating to use, but OpenOffice has a straightforward and feature-loaded but accessible interface. Apple mac stickers for laptops.

The problem, for me, with OpenOffice for Mac has always and is still its poor integration in the MacOS X environment, and one of the consequences I deplore the most is the painfully slow scroll through large documents. NeoOffice doesn't suffer from that flaw (it's a flaw for me), as scrolling is much easier and faster. Aside from that, and like all the other suites stemming from the OOo core, its functionalities are quite interesting, like its capability to export a document in the PDF format natively. I just wish it were a little faster to load and to scroll through documents.
